Accessibility statement for River Levels

This statement applies to the River Levels website at riverlevels.ie.

River Levels aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA before its full public launch.

The service is under development and is currently available only for invited testing. It has not yet completed a formal Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA assessment.

How we tested the website

We run automated checks on key pages in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit. These checks cover narrow-screen layouts, keyboard journeys, the water-level chart and the station map. We have also reviewed key pages at desktop and mobile screen sizes.

Manual testing with screen readers, voice control, a physical keyboard, true browser zoom and physical phones or tablets is not complete.

Known limitations

  • manual testing with assistive technology, true browser zoom and physical devices is incomplete
  • Irish-language content requires professional review
  • the water-level chart has automated keyboard, narrow-screen and Windows high-contrast checks, but has not been fully tested with screen readers, voice control or physical touch devices
  • the interactive station map has automated keyboard and cross-browser checks and a complete station-list alternative, but manual assistive-technology testing is incomplete

Report an accessibility issue

This service does not yet have a public contact route. Invited reviewers should report issues through the channel used to invite them. The organisation responsible for the service and an accessible email or telephone contact must be added before full public launch.
